The SUST-RUS final conference took place in Moscow on December 15, 2011. The conference “Energy efficiency and sustainability policies in Russia” was devoted to the issues of the assessment of energy efficiency and sustainability policies of the Russian Federation. A number of modeling approaches for evaluating economic, foreign trade, environmental and climate policy measures were presented by experts from Russia, Germany, Belgium and the USA.

The SUST-RUS team participated in EcoMod2011 conference. The goal of the conference was to promote the exchange of ideas among economists conducting quantitative analysis for policy and decision-making in the public and private sector. The conference covered all areas of applied modeling in economics.

SUST-RUS consortium hosted an open session “Sustainable growth of the regions: world experience and models for Russia” during the VII International Scientific Conference on Problems of Economic Growth “Sustainable Growth of the Russian Regions: Innovations, Institutes and New Technologies” (April 23-24, 2010, Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation).

For the fifth time we got together in the office of ZEW in Mannheim. We discussed the results of WP3 (model implementation) and the strategies for WP5, WP6 and WP7. 

The SUST-RUS forth Internal Meeting (IM4) in Ekaterinburg (Urals region, Russia) was very productive. We discussed the results of WP2 and discussed the strategies for WP3, WP4 and WP5-7.

Our third Internal Meeting (IM3) took place in Moscow on October 29. This internal meeting was aimed on discussion of the SUST-RUS modelling methodology, data collection in WP2 and strategies for WP3 and WP4.

Our second Internal Meeting (IM2) was held as a teleconference on 26th of May. There were discussed the data bases and modeling methodology. The next meeting (IM3) will be held at the end of September 2009 in Moscow.

The long-distance GAMS training course, organized by CEFIR for those SUST-RUS partners who needed some experience in building a general equilibrium model with GAMS software, is finished.

On May 20th CEFIR organized a test teleconference where we presented new pages in the Partners’ area - Financial Reporting and Databases. Teleconference on modelling methodology will be held on May 26th at 15:00 Moscow time.

During the kick-off meeting Sergey Paltsev, our guest expert, held a workshop “Economic Modeling of Energy and Environment: Current Approaches and Challenges”
